Otto Mannigel’s first indication of birth date is in the 1880 US Census for Lowell Township, Dodge County, Wisconsin.  Otto is living with his widowed mother Louise, his sister Bertha, and younger sister, Myrtie.  According to the census, Bertha was born in 1868, Otto in 1876, and Myrtie in 1878.

According to the WWI Draft Registration card for Otto, dated 12 Sep 1918:  Otto was born 14 Jul 1876.

Census:

In the 1880 US Census for Lowell Township, Dodge County, Wisconsin, Otto is 4 years old.  His mother is alone with the children which includes Otto, his older sister, Bertha (12), and his little sister, Myrtie (2).  Louisa is keeping house for the family.

In the 1900 US Census for Lowell Township, Dodge County, Wisconsin, Otto is a farm laborer for Carl Klug, farmer and is living in Lowell Township, Dodge County, Wisconsin.
