Wisconsin, Otto is a farm laborer for Carl Klug, farmer and is living in Lowell
Township, Dodge County, Wisconsin.
In the 1905 Wisconsin State Census, Otto is a farmer in Green
Valley Township,
Shawano County, Wisconsin.

County, Wisconsin, Otto is married to Helga whose parents were born in Norway. Helga is listed as being 29 (born ca
1881). It says they have been married
for 6 years, four children have been born and four are still living: Clarence (born ca 1902); Edwind
(born ca 1905), Orville (born ca 1906); and Louie (born ca 1908) [this is
probably Lloyd Mannigel]. Clarence is
the stepson of Otto. Otto is a farmer.
At the time of the WWI registration in September 1918, Otto
and Elda were living in Milwaukee,
Wisconsin.
He was a truck driver.
In the 1920 US Census for Milwaukee, Milwaukee County,
Wisconsin: Otto and his second wife,
Elda, are living in Milwaukee, Milwaukee County, Wisconsin with Edwin C (15), Orville H. (13), Lloyd D. (11), Leslie J. (8-1/2), and

Clarence is the stepson of Otto. (1905 Wisconsin State
Census, Green Valley Township, Shawano County, Wisconsin). It’s possible that
Clarence used a different last name and thus the difficulty in finding
information about him.

Gloria. Appears that
Merlin was connected to the Chicago Northwestern Railway (C & NW) out of Milwaukee.

Leslie J. Mannigel; 82, 549 E. Main St., Waupun, died
Saturday, May 14, 1994, at Theda Clark Regional
Medical Center.
Mr. Mannigel was born July 19, 1911, in Astico, [Dodge
County] Wis.,
the son of Otto and Helga (Olson) Mannigel.
He married Fern Knutson Nov. 5,
1935, in Rockford, [Winnebago
County] Ill. The couple spent most of their married lives
in the Waupun area. He retired from his
employment at Gardner Mfg. at Horicon, [Dodge
County], Wis.,
as a toolmaker. He was a member of Union-Congregational
Church, Waupun.
Survivors include five children, Marlene (Dick) Malter, Waupun; Wayne “Jiggs” (Penny),
West Bend [Washington County]; Wis.,
Betty Lou Markhardt, Durand [Pepin County,
WI]; Dave Mannigel, Crivitz [Marinette County] Wis., and Mary Nell (Bud) Malterer, Waupun:
eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three
step-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Lloyd
(Johanna) Mannigel, Kingsford, [Dickinson County] Mich., and Orville Mannigel,
Milwaukee.
He was preceded in death by one brother, two half-brothers,
his stepmother, one step-grandson, and a very special friend.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, at 10:30 a.m. at Kohls Funeral
Home, Waupun, the Rev. Michael Bausch
officiating. Interment was in Norwegian
Lutheran Cemetery,
town of Waupun. Visitation was held at the funeral home on
Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. and on Tuesday from 9
a.m. until the hour of servic
